Atlanta

I am a traveler, an adventurer, a huntress

I was abandoned, left in a forest to be raised by creatures of artemis

for I was not a son

I shall not try to be, I do not seek approval or to fit in any conventional mold

I am unswaying, no one will be deciding for me, not now, nor ever

I have traveled along side Jason on his quest for the Golden fleece

being the only woman, I became one of the men

I am fierce, Independent, competitive.

I am always on the hunt, and shall not fail

My arrows soar with a gladiator's strength to it's mark, success

I now wear the pelt of Calydonian Boar

I am strong, courageous, determined

determined to choose who I shall wed

So I shall run, encumbered by my great sword

Many men have fallen prey to this blade,

They see that I am a huntress, they were foolish to run

For the lion will always have it's prey

My golden mane whips through the wind as I gain speed

Callused fingers grasp the hilt, another contestant falls

I thought I'd keep running as fast as I can, that no man
would defeat me

I was wrong

I did not expect the mesmerizing gleam of those golden apples,

I should've known, someone would ask her for assistance

Aphrodite

my reluctance to fall in love must have made her look dreadful

I have forgotten..we have forgotten

For our mistake, we were punished, though it got out of hand

I have become the lion in which I so much resembled

I shall continue running in the night sky

I am a warrior, goddess, a lion

I am Atalanta
